The Custom Fail Thread

Figured it might be kinda fun to have a thread dedicated to pictures or stories of some of your "fail" moments while customizing.

Ill start it off with a pic of my latest release. After finishing the lettering I decided I didn't like the color I had chose, so I used acetone to remove it and started again. Oops...

Moral of the story is to never be scared to start over while working on leather. Had I gone the convenient way, I could have left it, but if I'm not 100% happy with it, then it's not done :)

Nice idea! I will have plentyt to add to this I mess up quite a bit but being able to recover is what can make a custom! Nicely played!

This entire project was a fail :(...whatever the bag is made of,obviously not real leather or any kinda synthetic leather ive ever worked on,but the paint would not and STILL has not even attempted to dry!! Shame cuz it was my first attempt at working on something other than shoes,aside from the sticky paint issue I was happy with it

yep,I dunno what the hell happened,iv painted other handbags since and theyre fine..its very weird!!

Try a clear coat of liquitex matte varnish or something similar over the top, saw a similar problem solved on a vinyl toy recently by doing this simple step

I did that too...it actually made it worse,it must be whatever the hell the bag is made of or something..never seen anything like it!

These are for a show called Shop Talk. Ever mess up but before you mess up you see it in your head while messing up?? Yea..thats what I did here. Afterwards my friend was like...no..
