Dealing with the spam!

Postby Sekure D » Mon Sep 24, 2012 9:51 am

Hey guys!

So you may have noticed there has been a bunch of spam lately! Well I have done pretty much everything I can to stop it. There is two registration questions and I have removed the classifieds section which I think brought in a lot of spam traffic. This means that the people signing up are real people and not spam bots which means there isn't a lot I can do except ban their IP and delete their posts which I have been doing twice a day for the last few weeks. With these increased measures there is less spam coming in but with the help of the mods we are doing our best to eliminate it as soon as we can!

Thanks for understanding!

Cheers man. Basically these people get paid or revenue every time a link is clicked on a forum they spam so they go from forum to forum just dropping posts. Generally speaking there is also robot version which are just programs set up that bypass poor security forums and post automatically. We have two registration questions which require you to read think and answer the question therefore we can summize its actual people doing the spamming.
