Nike Blazer - Brogueing

Hey Guys,

Latest Custom Blazer's, let me know what you think.

FEATURES:
Nike Blazer Lime Sole: Size 10
Silver Leather
Black Leather
Leather Shoelaces
Black Pigskin Lining with black leather lining tabs

ABOUT:
The Shoes feature folded edges throughout the upper as well as brogueing on the toe, tongue and heel of the shoe.

What is Brogueing?
Brogueing refers to the punched holes in shoes that make an ordinary shoe look more elaborate. Originally thought to have started in Scotland where the holes allowed water to drain out of the shoes, but nowadays is used just as a decoration and to highlight.

I achieved the folded edges by skiving all the edges of my pattern very finely with a leather knife (skiving knife) and then folding them. See the first few pictures.

FINAL WORD:
They are meant to be a modern take on a classic style of dress shoe. This is my last re-con sneaker I will be doing for awhile as I am hoping to start my own line of handmade shoes shortly.

Thanks,

Chase

Very nice, the design and the materials look great. The patterns on the heel tabs look really nice. In my opinion i think that you should have added the black lace panels on top of the gator material to even out the black on the toe and heel.

Yeah I was in two minds about whether to add black eyelet panels, my thinking was it might take away from the 'formal' aspect of the shoe. But yeah it was a tough call. Thanks for the comment.

I have never done a recon so I can only comment on aesthetics but it looks like a solid shoe the tongue shape seems a tiny bit stiff but overall the craftsmanship is very nice! Another great pair its really goo to see you trying different things with these the toe and heel details are great!

I like the concept of it but I would have loved to see the brogued toe cap extend over wear the tongue meets the quarter. If you worked it into the that reinforcement strip on the outside toe it would change the silhouette just enough to make it really stand out. also, I really dig the touches of green. Only thing is, I would have liked the stitching to match the green, the black is kinda harsh on it. with that said your stitching in very good.
