Nike Blazer - Paint your Shoes

Hi Everyone,

This is my first update in awhile, my second recon of a Blazer.

Features:
Nike Blazer Sole 9.5 US
Purple Suede Upper with Black Quilted Stitching
Black Leather Tongue and Toe Box with Purple Leather Paint
Black Suede Heel Tab with Embroidery
Lined with Athletic Shoe Lining with Kangaroo Fur Tabs

The main idea behind the sneaker was Individuality, it was a representation of the ‘paint your shoes concept’ to the general public to get others involved in this great art medium of shoe customising, I had developed a sort of shoe paint kit a couple of years ago with Angelus Leather Paints, Brushes, a How to Guide DVD etc. and My catch line for the shoe kit was 'Be YOU-nique'

The Angelus paints that are in the kit come in 18ml pots, so I wanted the pots to be at the top of the tongue and look like the
Purple leather paint had spilt out and was running down the tongue and toe. I used jewellery wire to hold the pot's in place at the top of the tongue by drilling two holes through the plastic pot's and then punching holes in the leather of the tongue and then simply tying the jewellery wire in-between the upper and lining of the tongue. (if that makes sense)

Shoe Kit Pic's (get the general idea i was going for with the shoes) I created 2 shoe kits a 'Premium kit' (top kit, wooden box) and a standard kit (cardboard box). I some how made 50 Wooden Boxes myself!!!

Back to the shoes! The rest of the upper consists of purple suede with quilted black stitching and white leather paint spills on the suede, only on the outside of both shoes. The heel tab is black suede with purple stitch embroidery the left shoe reading ‘Be YOU’ and the right ‘-nique’.
The lining is a sort of sneaker lining material (not sure what it is called) and a unique feature is small Kangaroo fur lining tabs to give the shoe a premium feel, with Purple shoelaces to complete the look.

Finished in a handmade wooden box. Hope you enjoy!

theyre really nice man...does the white leather paint stick to the suede or will it eventually crack and fall off?

Thanks man, I'm confident that the white leather paint will stay, as it pretty much soaks into the suede as soon as you apply it, I had to do about 4 coats to get a solid white.

Wow these are full on! Great to see a new custom from you, craftmanship really looks great, I know the paint on the suede should be alright, how is the paint pot held in? Only criticism is I dont like straight lacing but meh I can deal with it lol

Thanks Sekure, I tried to explain how I did the pot's in the description but I'm not sure if it made much sense lol. I used jewellery wire to hold the pot's in place at the top of the tongue I did this by drilling two holes through the plastic pot's and then punching holes in the leather of the tongue and then simply tying the jewellery wire in-between the upper, lining and foam of the tongue.

Yeah, now that you mention it the laces do throw it off slightly, something I will keep in mind next pair!

Yep sorry i get it now! Yeah I think if you crisscrossed the laces the normal over under way it would be rad, the laces over the pot if arent necessary to keep it in place are a little distracting, the crisscross will look like its cradling the pot which I think would be cool! Very creative anyways man!

The execution on this is amazing, from the box ( both the wooden and the cardboard) all the way to the cd.

Really digging the shoes too. Also, the quilt stitch on the outside is a cool little detail you only get to see on closer inspection. props
